Published: 02 November 2020

(The General Election is Tuesday)...Technically it is the last day to cast a ballot. Voting has been ongoing for several weeks. Vote By Mail voting started in October. Tuesday is in person voting and Vote By Mail Ballots must be post marked no later than November 3rd. They can be received up to 7 days after election day. With the state and federal issues on the ballot, turn out is expected to be very high. Counting will start once the polls close at 8:00 pm Tuesday. An official count is not expected to be complete for two weeks or longer after the polls close. The Elections Department has a month to canvass the ballots and certify the count. Scholl Districts and special districts will take up most of the ballots, with City Council races in Brawley, Calexico, Calipatria, El Centro, Holtville, Imperial and Westmorland. Calexico Unified School District will also have a $47 million School Bond Measure Q on the ballot.
