($7 million Grant).....It was approved a few months ago.

Tuesday the check was presented. The City of Calipatria will use the state grant to construct a park and new community center. The Date Street Park will include a new community garden. There will be a splash pad, picnic area, gazebos, a playground and tot-lot and parking lot. It will also have a multi-purpose Community Center. The park will be built for all age levels and it will be designed to be appropriate for all ability levels. The compound will be completely fenced for safety and will include solar panels to generate its own power.
