(Major seizure at the Calexico East Port)....It happened earlier this week.

Customs and Border Protection say a 19 year old drove up to the port in a 2015 Black Nissan. The CBP officer noticed the carpeting and bolts on the seat framne had been tampered with. The vehicle was sent to the secondary inspection area. A k-9 alerted to the vehicle, and it was run through the port's imaging system. Anomalies were revealed in the vehicle's floors, seats, and rear quarter panels. A more detailed search revealed 35 packages of methamphetamine concealed in the floor, firewall and rear quarter panel The packages weighed just over 262 pounds, with an estimated street value of over $576,000. The narcotics and vehicle were seized by the CBP. The driver, who had a legal crossing card, was taken into custody and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations
