El Centro police are investigating a jewelry theft.

Wednesday morning at about 9:38 a.m., the operator of a jewelry kiosk at the mall reported that an estimated $30,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen from her booth. The theft reportedly had occurred about 20 minutes earlier when the glass at the kiosk was smashed. Investigators are reviewing surveillance video of the theft.
