( Challenger continues to lead)......Ida Obeso Martinez is the challenger in the race for State Assembly District 36.

The District covers parts of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, and all of Imperial County. Since the counting started November 3rd, Obeso Martinez has led in all 3 counties. According to the most recent update, Obeso Martinez is still on top with 59% of the vote. Incumbent Jeff Gonzalez has 41% of the vote. The counting continues for this Assembly District. Steve Padilla has been re-elected in his State Senate District. Congressman Rual Ruiz has also been re-elected in the US House.
