(Local Strike Team leaves early Monday morning)...The Team departed the Valley at 3:00 in the morning.

They were headed to Caldor Fire in the Eldorado Forest, near the Nevada Border in North California. The Strike Team Consists of fire crews from El Centro, Brawley, Holtville, Chuckawalla State Prison and the Yuma Fire Department. At last5 report, the Caldor Fire had burned over 177,260 acres and was 14% contained. The Strike Team is expected to spend up to two weeks assisting in efforts to combat the blaze.
