Local health care officials are looking at the Alternate Care Site ( ACS ) at the Imperial Valley College gym.

The Imperial County Public Health Department , Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District , El Centro Regional Medical Center , and IVC are reviewing data to see if the site needs to reopen. The ACS has been kept in a “ warm “ status since August with a limited amount of equipment in case it needed to reopen. Recent increases in positive COVID-19 test results and increased hospitalizations has triggered the review to see if the additional resources are needed. Health care officials expect to update the local COVID-19 situation later this week.
