( BLM announces the end of the Sand Dune Season)...The Bureau of Land Management recently thanked the public for another awesome season.

The BLM officially announced the Cahuilla and Buttercup Ranger Stations have officially closed for the season. The next Dune Season starts in October. Unofficially, The Imperial Sand Dune Recreation area remains open to visitors. The public does not need an ISDRA fee permit until Dune Season begins again. Those planning on visiting the dunes in the summer must be aware BLM services will be limited. Visitors need to plan ahead, especially for the expected heat. In case of emergency, call 911
