Two people were injured in a Monday afternoon collision.

The California Highway Patrol said that at about 2:08 p.m. Monday a small car driven eastbound on Jasper Road and driven by 31-year old Francisco Martinez of Mexicali , ran the stop sign at the intersection with Bowker Road. Martinez's car t-boned a pick up truck driven by 49-year old Jimmy Toten of Holtville. Toten's pick u overturned and came to rest on it's wheels. Toten received minor injuries. Martinez was not wearing a seat belt and sustained head injuries. He was flown to Desert Medical Center in Palm Springs by Reach Air Ambulance. The accident remains under investigation.
