(Loans At Work Program)…It is a County program for County employees.
The program is for county employees who need a loan, but their credit is not good enough to qualify for a conventional loan. In December, the Board of Supervisors approved the program, contracting with BMG Money, Incorporated. The Supervisors then suspended the program for 60 days to allow Human Resources to survey participating employees and to reach out to local financial institutions for lending program options. Tuesday the Board agreed to reinstate the program, but with a modification. They added the Sun Community Federal Credit Union and the First Imperial Credit Union to the program, along with BMG Money, Incorporated. This gives the employees a choice of financial institutions in which to seek a loan. The loans are paid back through automatic payroll deductions.
