Imperial Valley and Yuma firefighters have been deployed to the Cave Fire.
The State of California issued a request for mutual aid Tuesday morning and a Task Force was on the road to the Los Padres National Forest in the Santa Barbara area a little later in the morning. The Cave Fire has been burning since Monday and has threatened homes in the area. As of Tuesday morning , over 3,800 acres had been burned. Firefighters are hoping that rain forecast for later in the week will aid in knocking down the wildfire. Last month a local strike team was deployed to the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County.
