The Imperial County Fire Department and the El Centro Fire Department both urged Imperial Valley residents to be ready for Hurricane Rosa.
The National Weather Service is tracking the hurricane that is off the Pacific coast of Baja California. On Friday , NWS issued a Flash Flood Watch for Imperial County and Southeastern and Central Arizona. Forecasters say that between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain could hit the area with resultant flooding. Additionally , 2 inches of rain are predicted for the mountains of eastern San Diego County. Strong winds will accompany any thunderstorms that develop. The heaviest rains are expected to begin Monday and continue through Tuesday night.
