The national Weather Service (NWS) has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for the Imperial Valley.

It's August in Imperial Valley and that means triple-digit temperatures but with the addition of high humidity the "feels like" temperature could be as much as ten degrees higher than what a thermometer shows. Hot and humid conditions will be around as a heat dome remains in place over the Southwestern United States. NWS says that extreme heat conditions will persist through the weekend with temperatures hovering several degrees above normal while humidity values remain higher than normal. The Extreme Heat Warning will remain in effect through Sunday night. 

While the Imperial Irrigation District has lifted the Conserve Alert, they are requesting that energy customers continue to give their appliances and other high use devices time off during the hours of peak use, 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
