A Somerton Middle School teacher was arrested with drugs.

On Monday afternoon, Yuma County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested the teacher after methamphetamine was found in her bag. YCSO said that a staff member at the school found a personal bag, described as a makeup bag, on campus. When the staff member checked in the bag to find out who it belonged to. they found a plastic bag containing what was later identified by the School Resource Officer (SRO) as methamphetamine. The SRO contacted the teacher, Deana Lynn Salter, 55, of Yuma, and placed her under arrest. Salter was booked by the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force on charges of Possession of Dangerous Drugs in a Drug-Free Zone, Possession ofDangerous Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Reckless Child/Vulnerable Adult Abuse.
