An early morning accident resulted in fatal injuries to a Yuma woman.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred at about 6:53 a.m. at W. County 14th Street and S. 4th Avenue. A Jeep Cherokee westbound on County 14th collided with a Honda Fit that was Southbound on 4th Avenue. The Honda failed to stop at a posted stop sign and the two vehicles collided in the intersection. The driver of the Honda, Amaryllis A. Jimenez de Burnett, 54, of Yuma, was taken to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Jeep sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
