The man who robbed a Calexico jewelry store at gunpoint has been sentenced to prison.

Anthony Angel Flores, 21, of Calexico, pleaded guilty in March to robbing a Don Roberto's Jewelry store in Calexico in September of 2022. Flores and an accomplice smashed display cases and ran off with an estimated $82,000 in jewelry. Calexico Police were able to obtain a a sample from  blood stains on the display cases and match the DNA to Flores. Flores is a member of the Ghost Town Locos street gang, which has ties to the Mexican Mafia criminal organization. Flores was sentenced in federal court to five years in prison and was ordered to pay Don Roberto's Jewelry nearly $85,000 in restitution for the stolen merchandise and the damage caused to the store.
