A tip jar at an Imperial Valley Mall restaurant was stolen Saturday night.

According to El Centro Police reports, the tip jar containing $250 was taken from a business in the food court of the mall. The suspect, described as a man in his early 20's, wearing a khaki hat, dark green shirt and black shorts and carrying a cane, took the jar and ran out of the mall towards a bus stop. An employee of the business confronted the thief and recovered the cash.
