(Meth seized in the Indio area)...El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents were working the area recently.

They conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 10 near Golf Center Parkway. The agents were conducting anti-smuggling operations. They stopped a 2021 Honda, along with a Border Patrol K-9 Team. The K-9 alerted to the vehicles trunk. Upon opening the trunk, the agents noticed an over-sized tire under some clothing. They removed the tire and it to be extremely heavy. They could feel objects moving inside the tire. The agents cut the tire open and found several cellophane wrapped bundles. The contents of the bundles tested positive for methamphetamine. The bundles weighed over 50 pounds. They said the estimated value for the meth was over $91,600. The driver, a passenger and the vehicle were turned over to local law enforcement authorities.
