The Imperial Irrigation District hosted members of the Coachella Valley Energy Commission for an educational tour of the district's energy facilities in the Coachella and Imperial Valleys. The Commissioners provide direct, diverse representation by Coachella Valley energy stakeholders for the unique energy needs of the greater Coachella Valley portion of the IID energy service area. Mayor of the City of La Quinta, Linda Evans, said it was quite educational to be able to see the district's power operations in person. She said it helps to hear directly from IID staff. The tour started at the district's large switching station in Coachella and concluded some 90 plus miles later at the IID's Drop 4 Hydroelectric generation plant located on the All American Canal east of Calexico
