(December unemployment numbers)....They were released recently.

They are the latest numbers available. Unemployment for December in Imperial County was reported at 14.7%, down from a revised unemployment rate of 15.5% reported for November., and below the year ago estimate of 17.5%. This compares with an unadjusted rate of 5.0% for the state and 3.7% for the nation during the same period. The numbers indicate 9,900 eligible individuals were unemployed in December out of a Labor Force of 67,600. Despite the drop, Imperial County once again had the highest unemployment rate in the state. Only one other county reported double digit unemployment for December. That was Colusa County with an unemployment rate of 11.9%.
