(The Race for District Attorney)...It is going to gain another candidate.

The race for District Attorney is traditionally a lonely race. Many times the incumbent runs unopposed. That is not the case this year. The election is in June and there are already three candidates for the seat being vacated by incumbent Gilbert Otero. The race is about to gain another candidate. Jason Amavisca says he will officially announce hius candidacy for County District Attorney on Wednesday. The announcement will be at an event planned to be held at the Veteran's Memorial at Bucklin Park, beginning at 12 noon. Amavisca is a native of Los Angeles. He came to the Imperial Valley in 2000 after he accepted a jhob in the District Attorney's office. He worked as a Deputy District Attorney until 2006, when he opened his private practice in El Centro.
