Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz has called for the resignation of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

In a letter, Dr. Ruiz, who represents Imperial County in Congress, cites grave violations of civil liberties, abuse of power, and erosion of public trust under Noem's leadership. Ruiz said, " Secretary Noem has demonstrated an alarming disregard for civil rights, and even weaponized federal agencies against innocent people, including veterans, U.S. citizens, and even Members of Congress. The letter demands that Secretary Noem resign no later than July 20, 2025, to begin restoring integrity and accountability to the Department.
