U. S. Border Patrol agents seized multiple weapons and arrested a number of individuals.
According to the Border Patrol, shortly after 6:00 p.m. Monday El Centro Border Patrol Sector Intelligence Unit observed an SUV in an industrial rail yard in Yuma, an area consistent with known human smuggling. Agents were able to apprehend 13 undocumented individuals in the area but were unable to stop the SUV. A short time later the SUV was located, and four individuals were seen exiting a nearby house. The four, all U.S. citizens, were detained. The house was searched, and agents discovered an additional three individuals: a U.S. citizen, a Mexican citizen with a Border Crossing Card, and an undocumented individual. Agents also discovered an AK-47, two semi-automatic AR-15 rifles, a 12-guage shotgun, a Glock pistol conversion kit, several magazines, and ammunition. All individuals were arrested and face a variety of charges.
