(US Citizens caught smuggling narcotics)...It happened earlier this week.
A car drove up to t5he Highway 86 checkpoint. The vehicle was referred to the secondary inspection area. A Border Patrol K-9 Detection Team alerted to the rear of the vehicle. Agents inspected the trunk and discovered multiple boxes of contraband. The boxes contained pills that tested positive for Fentanyl and a white substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. In total, agents found 7.8 pounds of fentanyl, valued at around $115,400, and 39.5 pounds of Methamphetamine, valued at over $60,300. The driver and passenger, both 19 year old females, the vehicle and narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
