(Annual Count of the homeless)...It is coming up January 28th and 29th.
The Imperial County Department of Social Services, Imperial Valley Continuum of Care Council, and community volunteers will take action to measure homelessness within Imperial County by conducting the 2022 Point in Time Count. Data collected from the count serves as US Department of Housing and Urban Development's basis for its annual funding of continuum of care nationwide, which is allocated to nonprofit providers, state and local governments to achieve key outcomes, such as; quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families, promote access to mainstream programs by homeless individuals and families, and improve self-sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness. To volunteer for the PIT Count, you must be 18 years or older virtual training, either today or on January 20th, and commit to a canvassing shift.
