(Delta Variant)...It is the COVID Variant of concern in Imperial County.

Since the variant was first encountered in Imperial County in December 2020, there have been 822 cases of the Delta Variant. Most of the local hospitalizations and COVID deaths recently have been non-vaccinated resident. Health officials say there have been no reported cases of the new Omicron Variant in Imperial County. There are now 61 COVID positive patients hospitalized in Imperial County. 15 of those are in Intensive Care. There are currently o ICU beds available in the county. The Public Health Department says 30 ventilators are currently in use. COVID Vaccines are still available and still very much recommended. The total number of vaccine doses administered in Imperial County are now at 308,343.
