(Agent helps man in the Indio area)....The El Centro Sector Border Patrol agent was working the area.
Near the Intersection of Jackson Street and Avenue 42, the agent was flagged down by a parked motorist in an adjacent shopping center. The motorist said her husband was choking and needed help. The Border Patrol agent approached the man who was choking and appeared to be panicking. The desparate man was pointing to his throat. The agent struck the man in the back, dislodging a piece of chewed food, enabling the man to breath normally. The man calmed down, but refused the agents offer to call emergency medical assistance. The couple expressed their gratitude for the agents timely aid.
