An early morning traffic stop on a bicycle rider ended in jail.

El Centro Police officers stopped the bicyclist early Saturday morning in the area of 5th and State Streets after seeing multiple vehicle code violations. While talking to the suspect, officers saw drug paraphernalia in plain sight. The suspect was placed under arrest. A search of the suspect found individually packaged bags continuing purple fentanyl and methamphetamine.There was 7.7 grams of fentanyl and 4.7 grams of methamphetamine. The bicycle rider was booked into Imperial County Jail on charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell, and Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia.
