(Sergeant receives Hero award)...It was presented by Congressman Paul Gosar.

Thursday the Congressman presented Yuma County Sheriff Sergeant Edgar Guerra with the 2021 Law Enforcement Unsung Hero Commendation. The Sergeant received the award for his outstanding service and selfless contributtions to the citizens of Yuma County. Sergeant Guerra began his career as a Deputy in 2009. He worked his way through the ranks. In 2016 he was promoted to Sergeant. In 2019 he was entrusted with developing and spearheadingf a new Intelligence Unit for the ICSO. The Unit has been cultivated into a vital asset that facilitates the YCSO and partner agencies to conduct improved and collaborative intelligence-based investigations.
