An Imperial County Sheriff's Office deputy died in a Saturday evening traffic accident.

Few details have been released but the accident at the intersection of Forrester and Aten Roads claimed the life of Deputy Anthony Redondo. The accident was reported shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Two vehicles were involved and apparently both ended up in a field adjacent to the roadway following the collision. Multiple    law enforcement agencies responded to the scene following the accident. Two helicopters and two ambulances responded to transport those injured in the accident. Redondo was pronounced deceased at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
