The California Highway Patrol and Imperial County Coroners Office are investigating a Saturday afternoon traffic accident.

The accident occurred at about 4:00 p.m. on Highway 115 just south of Albright Road. Two vehicles collided head-on and several people are injured. There was one fatality. Highway 115 was shut down in both directions between Albright and Rutherford Roads as emergency personnel worked at the scene. No other information is available and the accident remains under investigation.
