(Prosecution asks for another extension)...Alejandra Hurtado and her attorney were in court Monday.

It was for a scheduled motion hearing. The judge asked the attorney's if they were ready to proceed, the prosecution requested an extension, citing Government Code 1382. The judge reminded the Prosecuting attorney according to the code cited, it was up to the judge to pursue an extension for the betterment of the court, not for the convenience of either side. The request was then denied. The judge ordered all sides to return to the Imperial County Superior Courthouse in El Centro on Monday November 30th. Hurtado, an El Centro Police Officer, has been charged with False imprisonment and Assault with a deadly weapon by means of force to produce great bodily injury.
