An Imperial man was seriously injured in a Thursday morning traffic accident.

According to the California Highway Patrol , at about 10:15 a.m. Thursday , Zachary Marrs , 25 ,was eastbound on Rutherford Road near Jackson Road when his pickup drifted off the road way and onto the right dirt shoulder.  Marrs attempted to pull back on to the road when the truck struck a wooden pole and then overturned. Marrs was ejected from the truck and ended up in a nearby field.  He was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with internal injuries. According to the CHP it appears Marrs was not wearing a seatbelt. The accident remains under investigation.
