(Agents seize over 8 pounds of methamphetamine)...It happened Tuesday afternoon.
A Black Buick drove up to the Highway 86 checkpoint. Border Patrol agents sent the vehicle to the secondary inspection area. During the inspection a Border Patrol canine team alerted to the vehicle was searched and agents discovered a large bundle wrapped in foil hidden inside the oil pan of the vehicle. The substance in the bundle tested positive for methamphetamine. The bundle weighed 8.5 pounds and the meth had an estimated value of $19,125. The driver of the vehicle, a 26 year old US citizen was arrested. The driver, the vehicle and the meth were all turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
