(Free rides)…It began earlier this month.

The Imperial County Transportation commission says it will continue until further notice. It is a Free Fares Program for those traveling throughout the Imperial Valley. The free rides are available on IV Transit Services, IVT Fixed Route, IVT Circulations, IVT Access, and IVT transit. They say all regular service eligibility requirements and restrictions will remain in effect. The routes include Brawley, El Centro, Imperial, Heber, Calexico West Shore cities, including Salton City, Desert Shores, Thermal and towns on the Westside of Salton City. They say the Fare Boxes will be covered until further notice. Passengers board the bus, find a seat and depart when they reach their destination.
