Annette Buttner was in court last week. She is facing felony charges of filing false candidacy documents and grand theft. The Imperial County Office of Education Trustee’s trial will begin October 6. A pre-trial will be held September 14, and a readiness conference will be held October 4th. Buttner’s attorney had requested the charges be dismissed. That motion was denied. The defense appealed to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, who rejected the appeal.
