A hay baler that caught on fire resulted in a three alarm fire and the closure of a road.

Imperial County Fire Department responded to the hay baler burning at Schartz and Dogwood Roads at about 3:15 a.m. Tuesday. A third alarm was put out at about 4:08 a.m. and fire fighters requested that Schartz Road be shut down because people kept driving through ion the road hampering fire fighting efforts. Schartz was closed from Dogwood to Old Highway 111 by the Imperial County Road Department.
