El Centro Sector Border Patrol has seen a recent increase in narcotics seizures.

According to El Centro Sector numbers this fiscal year compared to last fiscal year , there has been a 93 percent increase in fentanyl and a 19 percent increase in methamphetamine seizures. Within the last three weeks alone the El Centro Sector agents have seized over 411 pounds of meth and more than 32 pounds of fentanyl. The estimated street value of those drugs is more than one-and a half million dollars. Fiscal year to date the local agents have taken over 50 pounds of cocaine , 107 pounds of marijuana , and  5 pounds of heroin of the streets.
