Liquid methamphetamine was found in the gas tank of a pick up truck at the Highway 86 checkpoint near Salton City.

The truck approached the checkpoint at about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday. A Border Patrol canine team alerted to the truck and in secondary inspection agents found the liquid meth in the gas tank. Total weight of the drugs was slightly over 165 pounds with an estimated value of over $314,000. The driver , a 34-year old U. S. citizen was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
