(Almost 200 pounds of meth seized)….It happened late last week.
It occurred at the Andrade Port of Entry. Customs and Border Protected says a vehicle, driven by a 32 year old Mexican National, entered the port. The CBP officer referred the 2006 Honda to the secondary inspection area. During the inspection, a CBP Canine Detection Team alerted to the vehicle’s quarter panels. Officers inspected and found 90 wrapped packages in the quarter panels, gas tank and in the front and back seats. The packages turned out to be methamphetamine, weighing 196 pounds, with an estimated street value of $235,000. The CBP seized the vehicle and the narcotics. The driver was arrested and turned over to Homeland Security Investigation agents for processing. He was later booked into County Jail to await arraignment.
