(Board of Supervisors adopt a plan)…It is a 3 year plan.
The Budget deficit mitigation plan was presented to the Board at their meeting Tuesday. Deputy County Executive Officer Mayra Widmann made the presentation. The plan covers the next three fiscal years and will phase in a 7% spending reduction for General Fund Departments. During the 3 year period, management will be allowed an opportunity to identify how best to reduce costs within their department, improve efficiency and identify other revenue sources such as grants, fees and contributions from other agencies. Before approving the plan, the Board agreed that the Finance Committee, that includes District 2 Supervisor Luis Plancarte and District one Supervisors Jesus Eduardo Escobar, should continue to explore new revenue streams that will benefit Imperial County in addition to a reduction of countywide expenditures.
