(Wednesday will be a paid holiday in Imperial County)…The President declared Wednesday to be a national day of mourning.
The President issued an executive order on December 1st to recognize the passing of former President George H. W. Bush. The order is for Federal employees. The US Postal Service has said there will be no mail delivery Wednesday. Several States have followed the federal lead and declared December 5th a Day of Mourning. The State of California has not made such a declaration. The County Board of Supervisors Tuesday did agree to declare Wednesday a paid holiday to Honor George H.W. Bush. Employees who cannot take the day off will receive over-time pay. Each County Department head will determine who will work on Wednesday.
