October is Cancer Awareness Month.

The Imperial County Board of Supervisors issued a proclamation to that affect. The proclamation recognizes the individuals and families affected by cancer and emphasizes the importance of prevention, early detection, regular screenings, treatment education and access to supportive resources. The board also honored cancer survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and organizations that continue to provide care, support, and hope.
