(Dolly Parton recognized in California).....Governor Gavin Newsom has signed legislation establishing Dolly Parton Day in California.

The Day will honor the renowned singer, songwriter, philanthropist and actress who passed away recently. Newsom has signed Senate Bill 931, authored by  Senators Shannon Grove, a republican from Bakersfield and John Laird, a democrat from Santa Cruz. The Bill establishes September 25 as Dolly Parton Day. The Day, 9-20-5, was selected in honor of Parton's beloved song 9 to 5.
