(The latest unemployment numbers are for August)....Those numbers were released recently.

The numbers are released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. August unemployment came in at 21.9%. That is up from a revised 19.9% reported in July, and below the year ago estimate of 22%. This compares to an unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.4% for the state, and 4.3% for the Nation during the same period. The August report indicates there were 16,700 unemployed out of a labor force of 76,300.
