(Saturday was Community Climate Action Day)....It was hosted by the Imperial Irrigation District.

They spent the day with several volunteers at the Shank Alamo Wetlands east of Brawley. They were kept busy planting 1,000 native plants. The purpose, according to organizers, is to improve water quality, prevent erosion, and treat drainage water flowing into the Alamo River and eventually into the Salton Sea. The event was supported by a coalition of groups, including the IID, Keep California Beautiful and the California Climate Action Corps.
