(Unemployment up slightly in October)....Numbers for October are the latest available.

They were released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. According to report, unemployment came in at 19.6% in October, up from a revised 19.4 % in September, and below the year ago estimate of 19.9%. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.4% for California and 3.9 % for the nation during the same time period. The report indicated there were 14,900 eligible workers unemployed out of a labor force in October of 76,100 in Imperial County.
