16 employees received medals at the September 20th event. A Silver Medal was presented to Jumel Moises, a Correctional Sergeant at Centinela State Prison near Seeley. The Silver Medal is awarded for acts of bravery under extraordinary or unusual circumstances. The employee displayed courage in the face of potential peril while saving or attempting to save the life of another person or distinguish themselves by performing in stressful situations with exceptional tactics or judgement. Moises had saved a man who was being attacked by two others in Chula Vista.
