(The Sierra Club Files a lawsuit)...The litigation challenges a decision by the Imperial Irrigation District.

That decision is to enter into an agreement with the US Bureau of Reclamnation which fails to protect the health of the communities in the region and the ecosystem at the Salton Sea. The suit contends the agreement means IID will forgo up to 900,000 acre feet of its Colorado River water allotment from 2024 - 2026, reducing critical water flows into the Salton Sea.
