A Wednesday afternoon fire destroyed an Ocotillo home.

The fire was reported at about 2:00 p.m. and Imperial County Fire Department responded. A second alarm was sent out almost immediately and soon after a third alarm was issued. Personnel and equipment from Holtville, El Centro, Westmorland, Calexico and NAF-El Centro responded to assist at the blaze. The home was destroyed by the fire but firefighters were apparently able to limit damage to nearby structures. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
